Two weeks ago after bible study. I was driving home from Broadway on the back roads in my usual manner, aka fast. :) When I reached Harrisonburg city limits my speed didn't change much. I turned on to Mt Clinton Pike and sped up. I passed the new Rockingham county school admin building and noticed a car sitting in the parking lot. Right as I noticed it, I saw blue lights turn on and the car zipped out of the parking lot and started following me. Yikes.
So I pulled over and the car also pulled over. It was certain the police car was after me. :( I had thoughts about how much this mistake was going to cost. After what seemed like a really long time, the police officer approached. He asked if I knew it was a 35mph speedlimit. I told him I did. He indicated that he didn't intend to give me a ticket and asked if I was in a hurry. Just to get home was my answer. Then he asked if I was coming from a basketball game, and I said nope bible study. I asked how fast I was going and he told me it was reaching 51. Then he asked for my license so he could run it through the system. He went away for a little bit and then came back and told me to have a good night.
He was the nicer police guy ever. I decided to interpret it as a visit from a guardian angel. There was some reason I was suppose to slow down. Either I missed out on an accident that night, or I'm suppose to get the message to slow down in general. Or just to follow the rules.
So I'm trying to drive within the speedlimit these days. I'm not perfect, but I'm trying. I want to make my guardian angel proud. I feel honored to chosen. :)
30-day update: My Nov challenge was not so successful. So I'm continuing on for Dec. Its really disappointing because I was able to master the skill of nail growing earlier this year. :(
I am also developing a plan to get back on the fitness bandwagon. Wish me luck
