working at perfekt

Some of you know that I haven't seen any direct results from my 4+ months of working out and I decided to take a month off. Well the month is over and its time to start up. My goal was to get up this morning and head to the gym. Well I got to bed early (10:30), but I forgot to reset my alarm. I woke up at 6:30 which is too late for the gym. But I couldn't accept defeat so I grabbed my pilates book and did that for 30 minutes.

So while my morning didn't go as I had envisioned, it was acceptable. :)

The other part of the story is that last night I got quite a running workout playing with the kids at bible school. On the way home I was mentioning to Patty that maybe i didn't need to workout in the morning. She gave me an adament NO! you must workout in the morning, answer. So that is another reason that I couldn't admit defeat. :) Thanks Patty.

tomorrow we'll see

tonight started bible school. I was helping with first grade, it went well.

I am making a new commitment to my fitness regime. So to make it really official, I'm stating it here. Tuesday I'll start working out in the mornings again.

So shall it be written, so shall it be done!

feel good inc

Well, I started this blog almost a week ago to recap my shopping trip to Richmond. I wasn't able to get back to it until now. So here it is:

Yesterday, Courtney and I went shopping down near richmond at Short Pump. We didn't start out bright and early, but we did shop till the stores kicked us out. :)

We were starvin upon arrival so our first stop was California Pizza Kitchen. We had a delicious taco pizza. I'm going to try and duplicate it sometime.

My shopping list wasn't very specific, but Courtney had stuff that she must get before her trip to London. We both found running shoes at Dick's sporting goods. My other good find was at bath & body works, where they had sugar scrub for half price. We had a break for a light dinner and desert at the cheesecake factory.

We were shocked and dismayed to discover that Short Pump doesn't have a GAP. I know its horrifying. So we called Dawn with our emergency and she told us where to find another mall. We got to the mall around 8:30 and were once again shocked to find it didn't have a GAP either! So after we got over the shock, I went to shop at NY & Company and Courtney went in search of a messenger bag. She found one at Express, the only catch was that it was available with a purchase of $50 or more. So we spent some time trying on jeans and finally settled on a pair. During this time the sales person even talked me into trying some on. We both were going with the flow and decided to both buy jeans and bags. We finally left the mall at 9:30.

It was a mad dash to get back to the shopping center where Target lives. We had 15 minutes to check out the usual stuff: Method cleaning products. :)

Now that most of the stores were closed we weren't quite done, so we stopped at Kroger for refreshments. Then we hit the road.

We got back sometme after mid-night. All in all it was a good trip. We made arrangements to met the next day at the mall and return our Express jeans and to continue the shopping.

This turned out to be a really good thing cause I found two shirts at Express and Courtney found better jeans at GAP.

covered in punk

Yesterday was wonderful! I took the day off work to putter around the house. I had a delightful time and I actually did some cleaning/organizing.

My first task was to create the master list. This includes everything I could ever dream of doing in the day. Then I assigned durations to each task and determined if it was possible. It was, whew. Then I determined when good tv programs were on so I could make sure to be in a room with a tv at those times.

Since the cat's room gets really hot in the afternoon, I decided to work in there first. I was feeling really ambitious so I emptied out the litter boxes and scrubed them with bleach. I also swept up all the litter granuals that were on the floor. Now the cats can feel loved.

The next order of business was to clean my bathroom and bedroom. This was during an interesting tv time since Dr. Phil was on. His guests were real life desperate housewives. I was amazed by how easily I got hooked on the daytime tv and how little actually happened during the hour. They really drag things out by recapping after every commercial. After hearing from the women on the show, I was extremely grateful for my own life.

Now it was time for lunch. I had quickie soup by opening a can of broth, throwing in a few noodles and some corn. Yum. Now it was time for Misty and I to take a nap while Young & the Restless was on.

I reluctantly got up to do some more cleaning, this time downstairs. This was actually kind of fun, cause I needed to put away all my new Pampered Chef stuff. I washed the new pans and cleared out my old ones. I made a resolution to do more cooking now that I spent lots of $$ on the pans.

I didn't get my whole list finished, but I did have a relaxing and productive day. I could have pushed myself harder, but I wanted it to be a laid back day.

30 day challenge update: I'm doing pretty good with flossing everynight. I can't say that its been 100%, but in the last eight days I've completed about 6 days. So thats 75%. Not too shabby. What I've discovered is that if I forget one night, its really easy to fall back into the habit of not doing it. So I need to be more intential in making a time to floss.

another 30 days

Well the first 30 day challenge is over. I'd call it a success. My nails are nice and long. I wouldn't be embarassed to get a manicure. :)

So I've given it a lot of thought and decided that for the next 30 days I will try and floss every night. This is something I've always struggled with and need to master. So wish me luck.

After two weeks i may decide to kick things up a notch and add a new challenge. I found that the first two weeks is the hardest, so I may be ready to take on something else.
