no heat in jenniville

We'll its been an eventful few days. Shopping was really fun. I found a pizza stone which will come in handy when I make yummy tomato and feta pizza. I also got workout shirts, the silky breathable kind. :)

Saturday night was Megan's surprise shower. There was yummy food, presents and cheesy shower games. Then I went home and vegged. It had been a long day that started at 6am.

Sometime during the night, my heat stopped working. I woke up feeling a bit cold. I contemplated what to do for awhile and eventually put in an emergency call for service from Mast & Brunk. They never called me back. I went to church and ate lunch with Audrey and Amy. I spent the afternoon cleaning to keep warm. Since it was just getting colder, I made an executive decision to spend the night at the Piper ranch. Mom & Dad are gone for the week so there was a vacancy. I packed up the stuff I would need for the evening/morning and coaxed the cats into the car.

We spent the evening cooking, watching tv, and working on bible study. I really enjoyed their gas stove. It was a really nice change from no heat. :)

The good news is that my heat is getting fixed. The bad news is that I have to hang out here freezing until their done. Staying warm burns calories, doesn't it?

waltzing along

I just don't know where all the time goes. Tomorrow I'm going shopping in hagerstown. It will be a really fun day. :)

I need to clean really well this weekend. Its been awhile since both levels of my house have been clean at the same time. Hopefully I can get to it sunday afternoon.

Lately I've been feeling so busy that I start wondering if I need to cut something out. But then the question is what and thats when the tough questions start. What are my priorities? What is expendable?

The answers to these and other questions will be given....just kidding. I don't really know the answers yet. :)

the battle for straight time

I know its been awhile since my last post. Life seems to stay at a busy almost unmanagable pace. I both love and hate it. Here's the latest:

Friday night Lynley, Dan, Courtney and Patrick came over for a scrubs marathon. What really happened was us hanging out and talking until 11:30 when we decided we should at least watch a couple scrubs.

Saturday morning, Mom and I went shoping. I found a cool jacket at JC Penneys. We also hit Kohls and Costco. In the evening I made a pizza and watched Desperate Housewives.

Sunday was the Daytona 500 party at mom & dads. There was yummy potato salad. The race was pretty exciting too. What a finish.

Not much else to report. My fitness obsession is still going on strong. I'm not seeing results as fast as I'd like. But I am holding strong. I feel my body getting stronger. I know that I'm building muscle. That has to be enough of a motivator for now. :)

long line of cars

so much has happened since my last post. So i'll try to get you up to speed. :)

as you remember in my last post, i got a new dryer. But the only way I could use it was to remove the folding door in front of it. On Saturday, dad built a platform for it and that allowed it to scoot over a little and now i can use it without taking off the folding door. Yay Dad!

Wednesday was Ash Wednesday and I attended the service at Zion. It was a really nice service that incorporated all of the different churches in our district. During the service I decided to give something up for Lent. I wanted to give something up that I would notice daily and it wouldnt' adversely affect my health. So I'm giving up coffee. Its actually the perfect thing to give up. Cause i notice it everyday and actually get headaches from not having it. So while I resist the urge to drink it and endure the headaches, I can think about why I'm doing this.

Thursday was the first meeting of the women's bible study. We're study a book by Beth Moore. It should be a really good 10 week bible study, especially since there's really cool women there. :)

Friday I headed down to Williamsburg with Sarah bix to attend youth worker's retreat. It was good to hangout with other youth workers. On Saturday afternoon, we headed out to shop. First at the Pottery and then to the prime outlets. I found some good deals but Amy surpassed everyone. At Van Huesen she found pants that were $7.99 and she had gotten a $5 off coupon (when she made a purchase at a sister store). So the pants ended up being a little over $3.

Sunday we headed back after lunch at Olive Garden. After being in the car all afternoon, I thought it would be fun to head to the gym. So I ran for awhile and headed home.

Monday I went to Lancaster for work. Andy, Jon, and I spent most of the day up there inventorying the computers at the lancaster campus. We had our valentines day dinner at bob evans and got home at 9:30. I started feeling like a cold was coming on during the day.

Tuesday I continued to feel sick and congested. I felt wiped out after yoga and took it easy.

Wednesday I felt a little better, but stayed home from MYF just to be safe. :)

dryer woes

About 10 days ago my dryer started sounding a lot louder than usual. After checking it out and thinking it was fixed for a little bit. I finally decided that it was time to upgrade. The dryer is olive green and looks like it must have been 25-30 years old. It came with the house my parents bought 5 years ago. So I ordered a new one online at Costco. One of the features I find really important is how much laundry will fit inside. So I got the jumbo 7.0 cubic something. It reminds me of the one I had before getting big green. The dryer has a nice rectange door almost as wide as the dryer and opens downward.

So the guys arrived this morning around 8:30. Which was really nice since I was told it would be between 8-11. So they door the folding door off, removed big green, installed the new dryer, and put the door back on. Nice new dryer, YAY!

Tonight I invited Mom and Dad over to have dinner and meet the new dryer. I was demonstrating the features and opened the door and BAM! The dryer door opens into the folding door. Yep that right, the folding door cannot open far enough for the dryer door to open.
So until my dad makes some modifications, I have to take the folding door off so that I can do laundry. LOL I personally think its too funny.

happy groundhog day

The week is speeding by. My time has been busy with working out. It feels really good to be this focused on my fitness. Monday evening was spent hanging with my small group at the Rush compound. We had a really good time getting caught up with each other. Tuesday evening I worked on my taxes. Mine are pretty simple so I was able to efile and be done. :) Tonight I had dinner with Mom & Dad. Yum! Thanks mom! It was good to spend some quality time with them. Then I put my weary body in a hot bath. I'm pretty sore from yesterday's yoga class and lifting.

On a funny side note. I've been a little more tired since I started getting up early and running. Some nights I go to bed at 9. I know it sounds crazy and makes me feel old, but boy do i feel better with more sleep. :)

I've also started taking my lunch to work. Usually its soup or something I've made. Its a lot easier to control calories when you make your own food. I actually have to bring a morning and afternoon snack. Since I've started running, i'm starving. Its also a lot easy on my bank account. I've eaten so many carrots in the past week, i'm probably going to turn orange!
