the 30 day challenge

I had a brainstorm the other night. I'm not sure that I can claim credit, since its probably influenced by lent and the new tv show 30 days. So it goes something like this:

We all have things in our lives that we want to be different. A behavior that we want to start or stop. This can seem overwhelming if we start out thinking its forever, but if its only for 30 days maybe it will be easier. Some ideas i've had for myself are taking vitamins and not biting my nails. When I ran the idea past my small group, they had even more ideas:
  • going to bed at a decent time
  • no tv
  • no soda
  • going home from work at a certain time
  • eating vegetarian
  • exercise
  • scrapbooking
There are many more ideas and I'd love to know what comes to your mind. That will give me ideas for later. I'm thinking of starting something new each month. This is somewhat inspired by my experience of giving up coffee for lent. It took about two weeks to get over the caffeine withdrawal, but after that it wasn't too hard. The interesting part is that now, I don't really like the taste of coffee. It just doesn't seem to taste right. So I'm sticking with tea.

I also thought it would be easier if more people tried it. So let me know if you're interested. My small group has signed up, but they haven't figured out what the challenge will be.

You can do it! May is challenge month!
