training day

Today I did a pretty good workout. I'm sure I walked/ran over 5K. I started out walking one lap and running two. I did this for 10 laps (1.5 mile). Then Amy joined me and walked for 30mins. Now I know that doesn't sound like much, but Amy is a fast walker and my legs were rubber when we finished. I really feel it in my butt. How are you doing Amy? Thanks for pushing me to walk faster and joining me. :)

Now I want to invite all of you to join me for the VMRC 5K. I think its an excellent cause and a great opportunity to walk/run in a race. Its very family friendly, strollers are welcome and pets need to be on a leash. I challenge you to come out and beat my time from last year 46 minutes. At least think about it.

Happy friday everyone! See ya at the relief sale.

we don't need no education

Yes, I'm still fed up with the accounting class. Which explains the title, but i'll buffer you from the rants. On the positive side, I was happy to be all done with the homework and quiz at 9pm tonight. I think that was the earliest ever. YAY!

I guess there's not a whole lot to report. Work is going well. My job has slowed down to a nice pace. My house is great. I just need to figure out a purpose for my extra room. But i'm in no hurry.

Lately i've been contemplating whether or not i should continue to be a vegetarian. Ever since I gave up meat, my diet is really strange. I don't eat a lot of vegetables or fruit. I try to avoid starchy carbs. Of course I try to cut out sweets and fried food. So that doesn't leave a lot of choices. :( I manage to find stuff to eat, but sometimes it seems like i'd eat healthier by including meat. Oh well, there's always cereal.

revenge of ragweed

Its fighting back. I'm trying to eradicate the itchy eyes and runny nose, but its not easy. I woke up feeling miserable. I didn't feel like sitting in chuch itching my eyes and sneezing. Not to mention all the fresh air I would have subjected myself to. So here I am at home and feeling miserable. Maybe I'm allergic to my house. Is that possible? Or maybe its all the fresh air trapped in the house since Tuesday.

The service for Arlene Baer was very nice. I hope when its my time and people gather to remember me (if there are such people) , they can say at least 1/8th as much nice stuff about me.

Well, I've gotten more comforter recommendations so I went ahead and ordered the other one too. Now I can see them on my bed and make a decision. I know, i'm crazy.

I've been contemplating the MBA a lot recently. I am really frustrated with all the time it has taken up. There are more important things I should be doing with my time. fortunately i don't have to make a decision now. The next class i could take is in the spring. so i've got time to figure it all out. right now all i need to do is finish the class. so i'd better get to it and work on the assignment for the week. :)

more birthday!

Last night the fam celebrated my birthday. We traveled down to stauton for my favorite restaurant Mill Street Grill. It was delicious of course. A pleasant time was had by one and all. Snaps to dad and his incredible driving skills for getting us out of the parking lot eventhough a car parked us in. Thanks to mom for the yummy homemade applesauce, what a great b-day present. :)

This morning around 4:30 I woke up for the second time this week with major nasal congestion and the need to scratch my eyes out. I was also wide awake. So I drank some tea and tried to calm down my allergies. Finally an hour later I was able to get back to sleep.

Later Misty had her yearly vet exam. It was determined she's a healthy happy 15+ pound cat. It was nice to be told that I didn't need to worry about her weight. It's not easy to keep her away from food, and she doesn't like to exercise.

In the afternoon, I made a visit to a doctor, hoping for some type of meds. After making me wait for at least 40 minutes, he agreed that something was affecting my upper respitory system. he prescribed Singulair and Acular. Hopefully that will help.

Tomorrow Audrey and I are traveling to MD/PA to attend the funeral for Patty's mom.

Thanks to everyone who gave feedback on the comforter. I've ordered Trinity, hopefully it looks good in person.

Happy weekend everyone.

birthday girl

So today was my birthday. I took the day off work and spent it with my cats. Its been a good day. My main project was to clean my house and organize the cat's room. I started at 9am and just finished at 8:30pm. What a great feeing to have the WHOLE house clean. YAY!

I had hoped to do some soul searching and contemplating since I turned 35. But I didn't do much of that. Its been a pretty anti-climatic birthday. I don't have any wisdom on getting older or what my dreams are, or goals for the next year. Maybe I can come up with that tomorrow. :)

Thanks to everyone who sent me birthday greetings. I love you man!

nowhere again

Well today was the day I got to relax and finally go shopping. It was really nice to get away from Harrisonburg and hangout with Courtney and Lynley. I got some homework done on the way to Tyson's Corner. We hooked up with their friend Laura who is super nice. We had a good time and yummy Pizza (CKP). The mall was very crowded and very upscale. So I didn't really find anything to purchase. That part was sorta disappointing, but I'm glad i went. I needed the break.

My birthday is tuesday. I'm celebrating by taking the day off to clean and contemplate life. I may even take off monday to work on homework and start the birthday celebration. :)

shoplifters of the world unite

YAY! I'm going shopping. How can that be you ask. Well, it goes like this: Lynley and Courtney are going to Tyson's Corner this saturday. They knew how badly I've wanted to shop and said I could go along. Now I'm not sure what impact this will have on my homework, but i don't care.

I know y'all have been waiting to hear what I did with my hair. Well, I did do something different. Its not very drastic, but I got some layers put in around my face. I'm not super excited about it, but its not bad.

Well I've got to dig into the homework since I'll be SHOPPING on saturday!!!

Remember to say a prayer for Patty and her family. Her mom isn't doing very well. Everyone is a peace with the situation but they need your thoughts and prayers.

smack down

My homework gave me the smackdown. I spent at least 5-8 hours working on it this past weekend. It was due at 8am tuesday morning. So monday I was planning to work on it and finish. I started about 7 and at 3:30 I was finishing up. How crazy is that. Tonight I took the night off and so I'll be refreshed and ready to start on another week of homework.

I spent the evening cleaning because my house was filthy. Where do all the dust bunnies come from? It feels good to have my kitchen and living room clean. Hopefully I can get my bedroom/bathroom clean on thursday.

I made it to the fitness center tonight. Yay! I'm totally in the workout zone. I'm thinking of signing up for the VMRC 5K. Anyone want to join me?

Tomorrow I'm getting my haircut and i've been contemplating something different. I'm not sure what, we'll see what hits me in the morning.

Work is really busy. We're still behind from the begining of school and the requests don't stop coming. I guess that's job security and its definately not boring. :)

I case I don't say it often enough, I love you guys. Hope your Wednesday is awesome!

vindicated; i am cleaning up so well

I had no idea this accounting class would take up so much of my time. I have spent so much time studying/working on it, at the expense of a lot of other things. Well its got to get better as I work my way into a routine, right?

I suck at getting up early and working out. But the good news is that I can work it into my evening schedule! YAY. I'm optimistic that it will work several evenings this week. At least this area of my life may be coming together.

Saturday I hung out at Dale & Rebecca's to hock my wares. It got off to a rocky start, but I ended up selling a bunch of creative memories stuff. Its a good thing. Thanks to Mom, Lynley, Caleb, Dawn & Dan for hanging out too.

Now its time to mourn the end of another weekend. I don't know how they go by so fast. What's especially hard is that i didn't accomplish very much. I spent most of my time reading and thinking about accounting. Isn't that sad. Maybe I should rethink the whole MBA thing. Back to work tomorrow and homework in the evening. Sounds like a good time doesn't it. :)

i'm back baby

Hopefully I'll be able to post more reguarly now. I'm caught up on my homework! YAY!

So whats new with me.
  • My class is 1/4th over. I forgot how quickly it goes. Its a bittersweet feeling. I enjoy the learning and having something to work on. But I don't like having my weekends taken over by homework.
  • Work is calming down. However I could spend an extra week there and still not be caught up.
  • I've got my usual fall fashion fever. When I crave new clothes. Unfortunately I don't have the time to go shopping. So I'm left ordering things via internet. Its fun, but not the same. I definately need to be in a mall.
  • I got some new music: The Format, Keane, and Kings of Conveinance. So far I like what I hear.
  • I still haven't decided what my extra room should be. Fortunately I'm in no rush. This weekend I should get rid of some clutter at the Belmont Yard Sale. Stop by Nutmeg if you wanna check out my stuff. I may be selling Creative Memories.
  • Tonight I hung out with my small group. Cathy did an excellent job of hosting us at the Lantz ranch. You Rock Cathy!
Well that's enough random updates. I'll be back soon. Happy Tuesday to all!

return of the living dead

thats me. For the past week, I've only had time for work, food, and sleep. I worked an extra 40 hours in one week. Fortunately that's over. Now I can return to the land of the living. Which means i need to do homework. My assignment was due yesterday but the prof said i could turn it in late. whew! Now i just need to catchup on my laundry, housework, and friends.

So i don't really have anything insightful to say. I guess the interesting observation that i have would be that after working so much its interesting how you feel brain dead. All i could think about doing is sleeping. I tried to read the chapters and it all came out as blah, blah blah.

I'm glad to be back amongst you!
