Tuesday we packed up funado and took it on the road. Our adventure started at the Mellow Mushroom. We had a yummy mega-veggie pizza. Snaps to Ney for choosing the place to eat. Then we headed to the Gravity Lounge. This is a coffee house on the downtown mall. They have books everywhere and its a really cool atmosphere. Todd Schlabach and Katie Grove were playing. It was awesome. They are both so talented. The drive was very nice in Lynley & Dan's new CRV.

we were meant to live for so much more
That's an awesome song by Switchfoot. I'm still trying to figure out exactly what the more is, but i think its an excellent sentiment.
Thursday was the carnival at church. It was a lot of fun. Snaps to everyone who planned it and worked so hard to make it successful. Later that night Adam, Courtney, Dan and I had funado at Dave's Taverna. The reason we moved funado to Dave's was to hear Oscars Mad. They were very good again. There were lots of familiar people there. Jeremy hung out with us for awhile. Good times.
I think i've decided not to get a new car at this point. I think it would just be too many financial commitments. I haven't given up the idea completely, i just decided not to do it right now.
Saturday I had to work in the morning. In the afternoon Jesse and I headed out to Highland Retreat for a fundrasier dinner. Lots of yummy food. We hooked up with Amy, Audrey and Patty who had gone out earlier. Blue Mountain Sunrise played some folksey music. Jesse and I noticed a common theme of death in all the songs. It became laughable after the 10th song, so we left.
Sunday was pretty ordinary. I attended Alethia again. I really enjoy their music and the different preaching style is starting to grow on me. They have a rock band and the praise music is different than what Mennonites are usually sing. Let me know if you're interested in going along.

cartalk
The guys at work have been trying to convince me to get a new car. I'm really tempted. We were looking at the mini cooper because it has a place to plug in an ipod. Which is very cool. But consumer reports doesn't give it a very good rating. So I was looking at a Mazda3. It would fit my personality better than the civic.
If I get a new car, it would involve getting a car loan. Currently my car is paid and its nice not to have payments. But I could probably handle the loan.
Any advice?

has it been a week already?
Sorry for the lack of posts. Ill try to get you updated on all the jenniville activity. :)
Thursday: Dad had minor surgery. It was very successful. He stayed in the hospital overnight. I saw the Chronicles of Riddick with Bill. We ran into John and Jason Lantz. It was fun to see them. My favorite part of the movie was when Vin Diesel has an internal monologue. Afterwards we stopped by Mattt's house to say hi.
Friday: I went to the Elkton Carnival with Mattt and Bill. It was pretty pathetic. There were about four rides and four games. The only thing I could eat was an apple with caramel. We hooked up with Mattt's roomate Niles and headed back to the burg. We hung out at their house for a little bit and then went to the bowling alley.
Saturday: I was pretty lazy in the morning. But in the afternoon I was a lean mean cleaning machine. I cleaned my house from bottom to top. That was a really good feeling. Bill and I were gonna make dinner in the evening but we ended up at O'Charley's instead. For those of you wondering who Bill is, he is a 21 year old friend of mine. He works in the EMU snack shoppe and is going to get married in August.
Sunday: Started with church. Lunch with the fam to celebrate father's day. I rested all afternoon. I was still battling a cold. In the evening Bill and I took Mattt to Alethia Church. He hadn't been to church in a long time. Hopefully he'll be open to going back this sunday. Afterward we got something to eat and played pool.
Monday: Work was really busy. The cold was still kicking my arse. So I came home from work and slept. Jesse called around 8 and wanted to go for a walk. So Patty, Jesse and I walked through park view. It was fun to walk and talk.
Tuesday: Work was really busy again. Mom called and let me know that my uncle Roger died. The funeral is friday and they are leaving on thursday. Mom put on a little pressure for me to go along. I didn't feel like I could get away with all the work stuff going on. I rested a little bit in the evening and then headed out to do some shopping. Then back home for the season premiere of Nip/Tuck and then Six Feet Under.
Wednesday: Work was really really busy. I came home and collapsed. Mom let me knw that I shouldn't feel any pressure to go to the funeral because there wouldn't be anywhere to sleep. Tonight I'm just chillin with Patty watching CSI. Good times.
Now you know the latest happenings in Jenniville.

and the cold goes on
Well it was pretty much an ordinary day. Work was fine. I felt like i got a lot accomplished. I'm still fighting this cold, but my throat doesn't hurt. Today my nose & head are congested.
We had myf tonight but only a few showed up and I wasn't needed. So I went home and took a walk with Patty. It felt good to get some exercise and its always good to talk with a friend.
I spent the rest of the evening ironing. I know doesn't it sound like fun. Believe me it was. Hopefully i won't have to do it again for awhile.
Say a prayer for my dad tomorrow morning. He is going to have a medical procedure done and will be in the hospital overnight.

did someone lose a cold?
Because I think i found it. I woke up this morning with a sore throat. I'm hoping its only a 24 hour sore throat.
Today went pretty fast. Work is really busy. There are a lot of projects that my team is working on.
In the evening I attended a Body Shop party. My feet were pampered. They feel really soft now. Jesse called up and wanted to walk so I also did that. We had a nice walk although it was really humid.
Now its off to bed. I'm gonna sleep away this cold/sore throat. No really, I'm determined not to be sick.

to geek or not to geek
My self esteem was shattered on friday. I was talking with greg and adam about how most of the people in our field of work are a bit geeky. I'm not sure why i did it, but i asked if i was a geek. Greg and adam hesitated and thats when i knew. Adam said that i have geek tendancies. My interest in technology puts me into the geek category. I did clarify with them that having geek tendancies doesn't have anything to do with fashion sense.
This weekend went by pretty fast. Friday night I got back from the conference around 7. I spent the evening hanging with Patty, Gary, Emily, and Matt. We watched the video of Emily and Matt's wedding. It was a really well done video. We also got something to eat at O'Charleys.
Saturday was Broadway High School's gradutation. Jason, Stuart, Anna, and Joe are now graduates! Congratulations. I got to hangout with Anna's family in the evening. There was some yummy cake.

quickie to va beach
This morning my team headed to VA beach for a User Services conference. This is a chance to hangout with other User Service people from other private colleges in virginia.
Not much has been happening in the past few days. Mostly work stuff. Things are really starting to get busy, and its only gonna get worse. I'm sure we'll make it somehow. There are two big announcements that have happened recently.
1. One of the guys on my team (Adam) is leaving at the end of July. He will not be easy to replace. If you know of anyone who can provide tech support, let me know.
2. Mike & Sarah are gonna have a baby! This means I will finally get to be an aunt. So you can just call me fun aunt Jenni. :) I can't wait.

just an ordinary day
That pretty much sums it up. The work day went pretty fast. I worked on paying bills in the morning and cleaning up our inventory in the afternoon. WE took Becky to lunch at Dave's Taverna. I had a really yummy pizza and my usual tomato mozarella salad.
This evening, Jesse and I went for a walk. One of our stops was DQ to meet Valerie, Becky and Davy. We had good times eating ice cream and hanging out.
all in all, i'd say it was a good day. :)

a hundred thousand miracles
Well maybe not that many. But i did have several today. God communicated his love for me in several ways today. It started with a really sweet email from Kathy. We are both really excited that Six Feet Under starts this sunday. The next miracle was breakfast. Jesse brought me an egg sandwich from Mr. Js. Yum! What a sweet guy. God also spoke to me in the music that was randomly selected by itunes. God is good.
I had yoga tonight, it was really good. She really worked our abs. After dinner, Jesse called and wanted to go for a walk. We had a good time walking around park view and watching the soccer game. Now, i'm just plain tired from all the physical activity.

the return of miss spooky
She's back! Misty and I spent some time out on the porch tonight. After awhile I saw this black furry head peak out from the porch next door. Sure enough, it was Spooky. She didn't wasnt to come out, so i coaxed her out with some cat food. I brushed her a little bit and then got her inside. She seems pretty unhappy and is hissing a lot. She hasn't filled me in on all her adventures, maybe she will later. I'm just glad to have her back. Now i can stop worrying. :)

prayer for miss spooky
Well, I've done it again; lost a cat. This time it's Spooky and I know she's outside. Last night she was whining at the door so i decided to let her out for awhile. Well this morning it occured to me that i never let her back in. I've walked around the neighborhood and haven't seen her. I'm not as scared as last time, but i am starting to get worried. So please say a prayer that she stays safe.
I know its been awhile since my last post, i'll try to put something more substancial later tonight.

wasted away again in jenniville, searching for my last shaker of salt
I know it has been awhile since my last entry. Things have been kinda slow in jenniville and I've been somewhat introspective. The month of May has been challenging for me. I've gone from being really busy, and having lots of people in my life to having a lot of time alone with nothing to do.
This is sorta hard to write about. I haven't figured it out and i don't want to sound pathetic. Its not that I'm lonely, it's more that i used to have something to do everyday and now I'm racking my brain trying to think of things to occupy my time. There needs to be more to give my life a purpose.
Its not that i don't have projects around the house. But somehow without other things going on, i am not motivated to do anything productive at home. Its weird but when i was busier, i took advantage of every moment. Now that more time and could do more, i actually do less. i know it doesn't make sense, but that's the way it is.
Its hard because i'm a take action kinda person. I like to determine a solution and make it happen. But i can't figure out what the solution is.
I know it won't be this way forever. I'm planning to start the MBA program this fall. Counterculture will start again in the fall. So what do i do until then? I checked out classes at Blue Ridge, but they started in May. My only viable idea (so far) is to refocus on fitness. I need to work on building up my running endurance. Valerie and I were talking about training for a marathon. I know its a crazy idea, but i figure if Oprah and Puffy Daddy can do it, so can i. I also want to work on my muscle tone, be more buff. :)
So that's whats going on with me. I'm doing some soul searching and looking for a purpose. Any ideas? Wanna join me on marathon training?
