cartalk

The guys at work have been trying to convince me to get a new car. I'm really tempted. We were looking at the mini cooper because it has a place to plug in an ipod. Which is very cool. But consumer reports doesn't give it a very good rating. So I was looking at a Mazda3. It would fit my personality better than the civic.

If I get a new car, it would involve getting a car loan. Currently my car is paid and its nice not to have payments. But I could probably handle the loan.

Any advice?

Way cool car! Are you interested in the 4 door or the 5 door? -Patty

Hello. My advice to you is to stay away from the Cooper. Any advantages in style - and ipod - are more than offset by the hassles you will have in repairs and poor quality. You might consider a Mazda Miata like your cousin Kim's. Good style, excellent quality.

Roger's funeral and surrounding activities were really good and healing. I miss you being in VA -there was room by the way. Sammy, the dog that looks like Shadow resurrected, would have been more than happy to bed down with you on the couch or something.

Too bad about Tony Raines race at Milwakee. I guess electrical problems killed the car early. Well, maybe next week in Daytona.

If you think having an Ipod in a Mini is cool. How about one in a BMW. You can plug the ipod into a 2002 and newer BMW these days. I recommend http://www.bmwusa.com/vehicles/3/325CiConvertible or my car of the future http://www.bmwusa.com/vehicles/M/M3Coupe.
