24 hours
I just rediscovered an awesome song by switchfoot. Its called 24 and it speaks to how quickly things can change in just 24 hours. It also brings hope into these situations by asking God to be a part of it. You can check out the lyrics here. I highly recommend their whole cd, but especially tracks 2,8,11.
Today started out with my yearly performance appraisal. It went very well, i was pleased. My boss thinks i am doing an excellent job. Whew, that's a relief. I feel like there is so much i need to do better, but i must be doing some things right. Lately I've been feeling all the extra responsibility that has been given to me. I enjoy my job and am glad to have the opportunity to further my career. I'm afraid that it means i'll need to put in more hours. That's not something i'm really interested in doing, but i do want to succeed. I guess i'll take one day at a time. :)
Tonight the funado group got together early and watched a taped copy of the season finale of scrubs. Of course it was excellent. Then we went to the beanery for some dinner. I had a yummy crab cake sandwich. Dan had to leave early to go work. Lynley, Adam and I went to Starbucks and Circuit City. I bought a couple new cds: the stills, the shins, and modest mouse.
Yesterday, i volunteered at Patchwork Pantry. It is always shocking to work with people who are living in poverty. It really helps put trivial things in perspective. I am extremely thankful that I have a good job that allows me to supply my needs and some extravagances.
